The Science curriculum at Everton Heath Primary is designed to fosters a healthy curiosity in children about our universe and promote a respect for the living and non-living things. We believe science encompasses the acquisition of knowledge, concepts, skills and positive attitudes.
We recognise the importance of Science within the different strands that we cover- providing learning based on biology, physics and chemistry. With Science as a core subject, we appreciate the importance on educating the children with different aspects of the environment and modern-day problems, such as how we can care for the community around us. Within our Science curriculum, we educate the children on how to use a range of resources effectively in order to test hypothesis and measure accurately, harbouring scientific curiosity and giving them many practical experiences. Our children will leave having a secure Scientific knowledge base, be resilient and questioning learners.
The science curriculum is designed for knowledge and skills to be revisited and developed in a two-year rolling programme. Science is taught through a range of means that include practical experiments and talks and visits from experts in order to gain a well-rounded understanding of the world we live in.
